A complete AQA GCSE RS lesson for Theme E that introduces the reasons for crime and connects them to Christian and Muslim beliefs and teachings about intention. It explores the intention behind crimes such as theft, hate crime, criminal damage and links them to religious teachings about committing crimes for good or bad intentions, giving examples from the story of St Paul and A Hadith from Prophet Muhammad. Includes a roll and re-tell retrieval task, an information sheet, worksheet and two practice exam questions with model answers.

A full GCSE AQA lesson about the 7 sacraments of Christianity. It includes different denominational attitudes towards the sacraments. Contains a start/retrieval task, a cut and sort activity, a key vocab sheet, and a quick quiz with answers.

A set of 3 revision clocks covering Muslim beliefs and practices. Each section of the clock relies on the students knowledge and so will be a useful diagnostic tool for students to identify the gaps in their retrieval. Can be used with the AQA approved textbook for self assessment and improvement to bridge knowledge gaps once students have completed as much as possible from memory.

KS4 AQA GCSE RE Christian practices lesson about the role of street pastors and food banks within the Church’s contribution to the local community. This lesson links this with the parable of the sheep and goats and how Christians can put Agape love into action. Includes a maze starter/retrieval task and 4/5 mark question practice and self assessment.

A complete lesson that takes students through the Genesis creation story and connects it to the key language Christians use to describe the nature of God. Includes: retrieval activity, Genesis 1 extract, card match activity, practice exam question and peer assessment.

Has some challenging questions about beliefs and practices for both Sunni and Shi’a Islam for year 11’s to practice retrieving and articulating their knowledge.

Can also be adapted for KS4 students learning about religious responses to war or poverty and hunger.

This is the first in 6 lessons of philosophy for core RE at year 11, but could also be simplified and used for year 10. It includes the activity of watching the Matrix which is only appropriate for these two year groups.
